Hand-Made, work with your hands...

Hey folk! If you would be interested in learning blacksmithing, basket weaving, traditional woodland skills like charcoal making, besom making and greenwood work, then get along to the Hand-Made weekend in Gulladaff House (Moville Hostel) this weekend the 35th and 26th of September 2010. All workshops will be from 10am - 5pm daily and the cost for the 2 days is €100 (€60 concession). Lunch is included and tea and coffee is provided all day. There are beds available in the hostel if you plan to stay.

Inishowen Genealogy / Family History Free Information Forum

Hey folks, tomorrow night (Wednesday 7th July) as part of the 2010 Ó'Dochartaigh Clann Reunion there will be a Free Genealogy information evening in the Ballyliffin Hotel (The Upper) at 7pm. 

Everyone is welcome, from absolute beginners to seasoned genealogists. There will be local genealogy experts from each main area on hand to give advice on how to get started and how to overcome any problems you might be encountering in your family history researching.

Thomas The Miller Collection ending soon...

If you haven't had the chance to pop along and see The Miller collection of photographs from the last hundred years plus collected from around the Buncrana and wider Inishowen area then now is the time as the exhibition is ending now at the end of March. Thomas had plans to digitally archive the existing collection for future generations. You can see the exhibition at the Inishowen Art Gallery, Milltown Business Park, Buncrana, Co. Donegal.
